SAP EWM

I strongly believe every Functional consultant must know the SAP Best Practices in their respective modules. Once you know the best practices then it is easy to suggest the right solutions that will benefit the development and delivery of any SAP project.

In order to learn and practice any new SAP module, the starting point is to know the best practices through building blocks.  This blog post contains the key information of  SAP EWM building block configuration step documents with important links provided at the end.

We can learn basic fundamental concepts of any SAP module through building blocks.

SAP’s pre-configured solutions with building blocks comes with documents like Configuration guide, Business process documentation, Scenario overview.

SAP Best Practices with SAP EWM building blocks from SAP website is as follows:

The SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM) rapid-deployment solution ( RDS )delivers configuration content in discrete sets called building blocks.

The Building Block concept offers a flexible and easy to use methodology to create reusable parts of business content, technical settings, information, etc. It is focused more on the implementation perspective than on business modeling, but the business content delivered with SAP Best Practices can easily be set up by the Building Blocks. Even if the methodology is easy, the quality of the Building Blocks is dependent on the experience and skill of the development team as well as on the existence of an overall concept and the ability to identify patterns that are valid for different configuration projects.

Before you read pre-configured EWM documents, understand the Rapid Deployment solutions can help reducing implementation efforts compare to classic implementation.

Shorter time to start, deploy and run through best practices.

    Hi TKReddy,

Your blog relly helps a lot. Really appreciate that.

Just would like to know the possibility of creating EWM PA testing data automatically in EWM SCM 7.0 IDES. I mean the exact testing data for EWM 100,EWM110 and EWM120.

Is that possible? Or is there anyway to get these testing data? I will convert and upload to EWM IDES.
Your reply would be highly appreciated. Thanks Jay.
